Biography: Maria Carmela Ferrante is associate Professor of Veterinary Toxicology since 2018 at the University of Naples Federico II, where she teaches in undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Her research activity is primarily about food and environmental toxicology, and molecular mechanisms of toxicity of chemical pollutants. Recently, she has focused on the effects of microplastics in fish species and in vitro models, by looking at several potential targets of toxicity. She has published more than 50 full papers on international journals indexed and classified in J.C.R.
